Following completion of his PhD in Chemistry at Liverpool, Dr Nick Brown has undertaken a variety of roles within the surface coatings industry, both in the UK and overseas (including South Africa, Australia, America and Japan) spanning 25 years. He is currently the Commercial Director with BASF Coil Coatings, a division of BASF SE, the world’s largest chemical company.
Dr Brown has been instrumental in developing the collaborative partnership between SPECIFIC and BASF. In particular, he has been key in developing wider engagement with BASF networks for SPECIFIC personnel. Most recently he orchestrated a visit to Ludwigshafen (BASF HQ) for senior staff from SPECIFIC to present and take part in a Showcase session at a BASF R&D Management Dialog Event in the area of Energy and Resources.
Dr Brown is a Board member of both the SPECIFIC IKC Advisory Board and Steering Group; he also sits on the Board of the UK and European Coil Coating Association.
